   Résumé
   Au début des années 1960, un jeune émigré yougoslave, Danilo, a deux amis, Tom et David. Tous trois courtisent Georgia, qui a une préférence pour Tom. Danilo part pour l'Université où il se lie avec Louie, dont il épouse la sœur Adrienne. Enceinte de Tom, Georgia épouse David. Le père d'Adrienne, amoureux de sa fille, tire sur elle et sur Danilo puis se suicide. Danilo va travailler en usine. Plus tard, il se réconcilie avec ses amis et Georgia décide de refaire sa vie avec lui.
   Commentaire
   C'est aux années 1960, pendant lesquelles il connut son heure de gloire, qu'Arthur Penn consacre ce film nostalgique et foisonnant. Il recrée imperceptiblement, à travers la vie et les émotions de son quatuor, l'ambiance animée et exaltante de leur époque. Le scénario enchaîne les scènes fortes, sans temps morts, et Jodi Thelen, dans le rôle de Georgia, éclaire tout le film par sa fraîcheur, sa spontanéité, sa physionomie épanouie.
